2011 SEASON

Hello soccer loving people, The 2011 season is once again upon us. I took time off last year but this blog is back stronger and better. We are going to be putting videos and pictures from the games. Actual game highlights will be posted up on here. Make sure you guys keep checking for updates, better yet you can subscribe. A few changes have happened since the last season ended. The league has a new commissioner and new officers. The league has also approved a new fee for players. There will also be a twitter account for the league real soon. As soon as we set it up I will give out the twitter handle. Other soccer news: Nigeria"s Super Eagles will be hosting Kenya's harambee stars on tuesday. Peter Utaka and Ikechukwu Uche scored two goals each to lead Nigeria to a 4-0 win over Ethiopia in their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Sunday. REGULAR SEASON: UP AND RUNNING

Three exciting games this past Sunday. first of all Onadrix rangers totally dominated vasco untied from start to finish. Pillar and Chuky came through for rangers with some fantastic finish. No wonder rangers are the undisputed favourites.
The second game of the day was nice with ogbunigwe handing out eastern united a loss. Nana playing for ogbunigwe tore up easterns defense even with the presence of Galidore (forgive me if i did not get it right) playing defense. ogbunigwe paying like they are on a mission. how long they can keep that up, we'll see.
The final game of the day wasn't up to par with the other two, I guess cus everyone including the players were focused on Agama's chicken or Uche's suya. Raccah held of Mofe for a one goal victory.
the crowd showed a lot of interest in the games. a whole of people are showing up for the games, if you have not come out yet, you are definitely missing out.

The power rankings have changed. not the number 1 team though. here goes the new rankings.
1. Onadrix Rangers: easy victory over Vasco made sure rangers kept their number 1 spot.
2. Enyimba: off week
3. Inter: off week
4. Ogbunigwe: moved up four spots because of their impressive victory over eastern.
5. Raccah: also moved up for spots as they held their own against Mofe.
6. Youngbloods: bye week
7. Mofe: narrowly lost to Raccah. dropped to # 7
8. Vasco: missing two key players but so was their opponent. no excuses in this league. dropped from 4th to 8th.
9. Eastern: lacked team spirit and effort. look disorganised. trust me eastern has to pick it up in a hurry or it could spell disaster.

I'm looking forward to the game of the day next week which pits Ogbunigwe vs Enyimba. Easter Sunday matinee. lets bring our friends, families and enemies(maybe we might get u to make up-u feel me).

Responses, comments and questions are always welcome.
